Elephant & Castle

OVERVIEW

In early 2012 a proposal was produced for a series of major streetscape improvements at the northern roundabout at Elephant and Castle in South London. The aim of this proposal was to restore surface crossings and improve the amount and quality of the public realm at Elephant and Castle, making the area more attractive for pedestrians and cyclists while continuing to accommodate motor traffic.

Room60 were commisioned together with architects Tonkin Liu by Transport for London to bring this outline vision to life and show how the transformation of the space might work with a cafe, kiosks performance areas and display spaces.

A scene from the film was replicated as a complete 360 visual to be used with VR headsets to really put the viewer into the space.
